Artist Statement

With the nostalgic perspective of a mother, my current body of work focuses on pulling feelings of familiarity and belonging out of natural landscapes. The production of my work is dictated by the splintered time in which I can create it. For example, working from reference photos and with water based media are flexible materials that I can pick up and put down whether I have 10 minutes or 5 hours to work. The meditative experience of mark making allows me to process my own memories.
