About

Jamie Hurst is an American fine visual artist, art historian, and educator. Originally from Florida, she spent the majority of her adulthood as an expatriate traveling and living around the world, moving every year or two. Moving this much has had a significant impact on her family, cultural perspective, and general outlook on life. It has lead her to consider the question “what is home?” Over the years she has considered this through many mediums, from historical study to photography and travel writing to sewing and cooking to drawing and painting. Her current body of work considers the daily walk as a means of connection to oneself, others, and to a place. The works are intentionally small enough to fit in a suitcase.

She currently lives and works in Northern Virginia, USA.
